How do I post a RockYou slideshow?

Make a RockYou slideshow, then find your slideshow’s ID. The quickest way to do this is to look in your browser’s address bar:

Copy the ID number and write something like this into your blog post:

You can specify the width and height if you want to:

On your blog, the slideshow will show up like the one below.

You can post audio or video from PodTech Network (podtech.net)

Find the video you like:

Click the orange SHARE button:

Find the wordpress.com code. Copy that and paste it into your post.

Alternatively, you can use the “Post to your WordPress.com blog” button below the player if you want to post directly from PodTech instead of embedding their player while writing a post in your dashboard.

How do I post a DailyMotion video?

When you have found the video you want, look in the box underneath it.

That box is very long but it has the id you need.

Scroll through that box, or copy all of it into Notepad. The part you want is the value: value="http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/5zYRy1JLhuGlP3BGw"

Copy the numbers: value=”http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/5zYRy1JLhuGlP3BGw

and write them like this:

How do I post a Google Video?

Find the URL of the video. Put that URL between to make something that looks like:

Find your video and look for the About This Video box.

Copy the URL.

Post Videos from Grouper

Attention video sharing bloggers: Grouper has landed. They now have a “Post to WordPress” button that reduces the task to just a couple of clicks. This is our best video sharing feature ever and the folks at Grouper did most of the work. Take a look at this: What could be easier?

Some details you might want to know about: Autoplay will cause your video to start playing as soon as a visitor loads the page. Please respect your visitors! We have made sure that only the first Autoplay on a page will start automatically. You won’t have to worry about ten videos all playing at once. If you change your mind about Autoplay, you can edit the code in your post: ap~1 turns it on and ap~0 (that’s a zero) turns it off. This only works on WordPress.com. Admins of self-hosted WordPress blogs should use the HTML code provided by Grouper.

How do I get music on my blog?

There are 4 ways to do this:

1. Upload an mp3 file somewhere on the internet and link to it like this [audio ] with the address inside.
Like this:
[audio http://wordpress.com/files/2007/01/mattmullenweg-interview.mp3]

which will produce the following player:

2. Buy the Space Upgrade. This allows you to upload mp3, ogg, wav, m4a, mov, wmv, avi, and mpg files and play them too. Check your Upgrades page inside the blog.

3. Link directly to a file elsewhere and rely on your reader’s machines to play it.

4. Use the Sonific widget.

How do I add categories or tag on the fly?

When you expand the categories box by clicking the + you’ll see a box at the bottom. If you type into this box and press enter it will create a category on the fly and assign it to the post you’re currently writing.

Can I change my font / font size?

Yes you can but it’s fiddly and maybe not worth the hassle all the time but keep reading

Note:

• You cannot change the default font your theme uses. If you want to do this, you must do this all the time. It cannot be made easier at this point
• We cannot alter a theme to accommodate your choice of font size. Please bear in mind that if we alter a theme for you then that alters the same theme for everyone else. They probably won’t like that happening.
• No we will not be adding fonts at this time
• You must turn the Visual Rich Editor OFF for this to work the first time you write the post
• You can only use the attributes below – unless someone finds a new one – and no, we cannot add anything else
• If after writing a post you see all the posts or comments below it looking odd, edit the post and find the missing tags. For every <font> tag you must have a </font> tag

Here is how I wrote what is at the top:

So when you want to write differently you have 3 elements to play with: face / size / color

size – experiment with different sizes. Look at the example above
